First day in Oz, Point Lonsdale and Queenscliff, Victoria.

Our last day in Hong Kong was very relaxing, and after a massive breakfast we all headed out to Hong Kong Island for an explore, via the Star Ferry to Wan Chai.

Later on it was back to the airport, for a big goodbye to Mike and Ann and another overnight flight to Melbourne. Breezed through customs etc in no time at all. Hardly any waiting, which is a novelty isn't it.

OMM sales rocket in Oz!

Slight hitch at Hertz, as the agency I’d used to book all our car hire had booked a lovely car for us…………. In Melbourne, Florida, USA! All sorted out in the end, it’s only money.

Chilly and breezy in Point Lonsdale and the Point Lonsdale Guesthouse had a bit of the Fawlty Towers look about it but Sue and Pete the hosts we’re lovely.  Deb liked that we were in the Lady Bollinger room, I don't know why! Nice walk to the lighthouse that signals the narrow entrance to Port Philip Bay. The gap known as the “Rip” was wild. Dinner in a local wine bar “Noble Rot”, was lovely but pricey. Point Lonsdale and the slightly nicer Queenscliff have a Victorian colonial feel about them, lots of vintage shops, art galleries and coffee shops.

Tomorrow we start on our drive along the Great Ocean Road.
