Hong Kong

If you’re expecting our blog to be witty, erudite and full of useful information, you must be new to our blogs.......... I’d better let you down now gently now!

We arrived in Hong Kong for a two day stopover on time but with the usual sleep deprived, slightly dishevelled and dazzled rabbit look about us. Our hero neighbour and friend Graham (Big up Graham) dropped us off at Nottingham railway station, for the trip to London, tube to Paddington and finally the Heathrow Express.

Several G&Ts later, having met up with our travel buddies, Mike and Ann (of St Jean D’Aulps fame), we were in the holiday mood. The time flew by and we were soon squeezed into our economy seats on the top deck of the A380.

Somewhat quirky but nevertheless lovely the Luxe Hotel provides all the customary hotel facilities and one or two unusual extras, one of them being a swanky mobile phone/personal hotspot to use for the duration!

Having fun

Deb's not keen on the fish stall

Mandy, our guide, met us in reception and then spent the day all showing us the sights from a locals perspective. Markets, local restaurants, street food and some great views, all mixed in with some history and cultural info.

Finally she put us on a bus for Repulse Bay and Stanley, the beaches and scenery are fab. Mandy also gave us a great tip for dinner.

Small and quirky and full of ex pats and locals, Mr Wongs “all you can eat and drink” restaurant was a hit for the evening.

We should sleep well tonight!
